Wine Ratings – Systems
The 100-point wine rating system is the most popular in North America. This system has been popularized by Robert Parker and it is also used by Wine Enthusiast, Guia Penin, Wine Spectator and others. It actually starts at 50 points, and some raters never include wines with scores below 80.
In Europe, the 100-point rating system is less popular and other rating rating systems exist. We will use the 5-star wine ratings, as it is quite flexible, more understandable by people and we can provide rating option for users. Wines produced in Moldova will be presented mainly, as data from this country is quite scarce. Nevertheless, wines from other countries will appear too.
